The most appropriate solution and painless for the fish (if you have cared for days, of course you do not want to suffer) is simple:
1. Fill a bag discussion with water (one cup is enough).
2. Stir a teaspoon of salt.
3. Put the fish.
4. Enter the bag with the fish in the freezer.
5. A few hours later the fish is dead, you can get rid of it as you wish.
