Storage Units of Measure.
The units of measurement used for computer data storage are:
-Bit: The basic unit can only store a 0 or 1.
-Byte or Octet: contains 8 bits.
-Kilo Byte (KB): Contains 1.024 Bytes.
-Mega Byte (MB): Contains 1,024 KB, or approximately 1 million bytes.
-Giga Byte (GB): contains 1.024 MB, or about 1 million KB.
-Tera Byte (TB): Contains 1.024 GB, or about 1 million MB.
is -650 to 700 MB storage capacity of a normal CD. There are others with capacity of 800-875 MB.
-4.38 GB is the storage capacity of a normal DVD.
To perform conversions between units of measure, is multiplied or divided by its equivalent. For example:
- Convert Bytes to Bits 60: 60 Bytes * 8 bits / 1 Byte = 480 Bites
- Convert Bytes to KB 2350: 2350 Bytes * 1 = 2.29 KB Bytes KB/1024
